My goal is to only do what your cat allows me to do safely. I haven't had a cat that I could not bathe. Most times, the cats who have never been groomed before are scared of the clippers or the blow dryer and these are things that take time to get them accustomed to. Some cats absolutely hate being shaved so if your cat has never been shaved before, I would not recommend booking a lion cut for a first time appointment. I don't want to stress your cat to the point that they hate grooming. The goal is to get them comfortable with the grooming that is required to maintain their health and hopefully learn to enjoy the process. If your cat reacts negatively, I will contact you during the appointment and discuss changing the grooming plan or getting some medication from your vet to help them feel more comfortable so we can do what is necessary.
Because the primary goal is to maintain a cat friendly environment, I only groom cats in my salon.
Yes! This is actually something everyone should ask every potential groomer. I have a home based business license, local animal establishment permit and a department of agriculture kennel license (both inspections were completed and passed) I also am an NCGI trained cat groomer which allows me safer handling of cats. I also have full coverage liability insurance that covers your cat while it's in my care.
When a cat grooms itself, they are essentially licking saliva all over their body. This will remove some of the oils that naturally build up in their fur and will often times make them look clean temporarily but, in time, and as their seasonal coat changes and shedding begins, the fur will cling together and look feathery and clumping together. When this starts to happen, the process of shedding becomes a challenge and they will begin to develop tangles in their fur. This can quickly become a big issue if not addressed before mats form in their coat. It is recommended, in order to prevent a cat from matting, to bathe them when their fur begins to feel waxy or when you see it separating into clumps. This time frame varies depending on the breed, age and individual needs of your cat but can range anywhere from monthly to every 4 months.
My name is Kendra and I am an absolutely cat person! Always have been since childhood...
Last year I started my journey to become a CFMG (Certified Feline Master Groomer) through the National Cat Groomers Institute. As a member of this institution, I have been professionally trained by the best cat groomers in the world (NCGI Certified Feline Master Groomers) I have completed over 40 hours of hands-on instruction in this education process to ensure I can provide the highest quality care and broad knowledge regarding health, safety and breed specific grooming needs for all cats. CFMG's are an elite few who have built thriving businesses offering top-tier cat exclusive grooming and care. There are currently only 445 CFMG's in the world!
Before pursuing this goal, I had over 10 years of experience caring for my own persian cats and soon decided to foster for a rescue that specialized in pure bred cats. I decided to start taking my rescues to cat shows which ultimately led me to start this business where I can now offer my skilled expertise to all cats in need of grooming care.
Everyone wants a clean cat to snuggle right? How about less fur floating around the house and less hairballs being puked on your floors? Some cats can be challenging to groom at home. Without experience and the lack of necessary grooming products and equipment, it can be an overwhelming chore. I am here to offer services that are catered to cats only, in an environment that feels like home and a groomer who is professionally trained by Certified Feline Master Groomers through the National Cat Groomers Institute. Cats are sensitive creatures who seek comfort and familiarity so I strive to make every cat feel safe and calm, creating a caring routine catered to their specific needs while here.
I am currently in the final stages of my Feline Master Groomer Certification and I have passed 10 of the 12 required exams so far. I am actively working towards the mastery level of grooming so I can provide top-notch feline exclusive services in Northwest Georgia.
I love cats and will do whatever makes your cat comfortable while caring for their particular needs. There's nothing better than a happy, clean cat! If you have any concerns or special requests regarding your cat, send me a message and I'll get back with you as soon as possible.
